The Meeting of the MAP Focal Points took place on 12-15 September 2017 in Athens, Greece. The objective was to review the draft decisions for the CoP20. Several topics were on the agenda and the decision on the Regional Framework for ICZM, including the Conceptual Framework on Marine Spatial Planning was the main one related to PAP/RAC. This document will trace the work of the Centre and other MAP components for the decade to come. Many other decisions were discussed as well, such as those related to Governance of the MAP system, Work Programme and the budget for the next biennium, the biodiversity and pollution related issues and alike.
A day prior to this meeting the 6th Meeting of the EcAp Coordination Group took place with the objective to discuss the EcAp indicators Guidance Fact Sheets and the Quality Status Report (QSR) 2017. PAP/RAC contributed with the inputs on common indicators related to Coast and Hydrography cluster. The conclusions of this meeting were an important contribution to the draft Decision for the CoP20 as the QSR 2017 which is meant to be one of the flag outputs of the Secretariat in the current biennium.
