ICZM Plan for the Šibenik-Knin County approaching completion

15.11.2015

The PAP/RAC expert team has completed the final draft of the ICZM Plan for the Šibenik-Knin County. The Plan contains, among others, measures to be taken by each coastal settlement in order to mitigate the effects of climate change and variability. Those measures were designed according to the studies and research performed during the preparation of the Plan, as well as in contacts with the County stakeholders, either directly, through interviews, or during a number of workshops. However, wishing to “fine polish” the measures, on November 12, a meeting was organised in Šibenik with the stakeholders from the County, including representatives of the coastal towns and settlements, to present the document and get a feedback that would serve as the basis for the finalisation of the document. The meeting was attended by 30-odd participants who made valuable comments and suggestions. Given the limited time available, it was agreed that the stakeholders would send to the team leader their further comments and suggestions in writing by the end of the month. After that the Plan will be finalised and submitted to the County for adoption.
