Morocco has ratified the ICZM Protocol

A great news has arrived today from the Co-ordinating Unit of MAP: Morocco has ratified the ICZM Protocol! The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Co-operation of Spain, in its capacity of Depositary of the Treaty for the Protection of the Marine Environment and the Mediterranean Seaside Region signed in Barcelona on 16 February 1976, informs that on 21 September 2012, the Kingdom of Morocco deposited the Ratification Instrument of the Protocol on Integrated Coastal Zone Management in the Mediterranean.

By the ratification of the ICZM Protocol, the Kingdom of Morocco has become the second Contracting Party to the Barcelona Convention and its Protocols to have ratified the full set of legal instruments adopted in the framework of the Mediterranean Action Plan.

The ICZM Protocol ratification by Morocco brings the number of ratifications to 9.
