PAP/RAC hosted Turkish delegation

01.11.2010

On 22 October, PAP/RAC hosted a delegation composed of 10 officers of the Turkish Ministry of Public Works and Resettlement and 4 consultants from Belda Ltd. This visit, co-organised with the Croatian Ministry of Environment, Physical Planning and Construction, was an opportunity for the Turkish delegation to get familiar with MAP and PAP activities in the field of ICZM, and to exchange opinion with PAP/RAC officers on the best ways of implementing the ICZM process. The visit was extremely appreciated by PAP/RAC because initiated by a “sectoral” ministry, showing that ICZM is not and should not be an exclusive environmental affair.

After the PAP/RAC session, the Turkish delegation had the opportunity to hear in more detail about the Croatian planning system from a renown specialist in the field, as well as about some participatory approaches and practices implemented by the local NGO “Sunce”.
