Together for converging methodologies

07.07.2010

The first meeting of the Integrative Working Group (IWG) was held in GWP premises in Athens, on 1-2 July. Partners of the ICZM component of the GEF Strategic Partnership met reinforced with the methodology specialists aiming at producing an Integrative Methodological Framework which will be tested in the pilot actions within the same project.

The framework should assist in converging and improving methodologies for coastal water, groundwater/aquifer and biodiversity management. Respective partners, PAP/RAC, GWP-MED, UNESCO-IHP and SPA/RAC, supported by the PMU, agreed on the process, roadmap and on the workplan for future joint activities. Partners expect that the output achieved will be of a general value, user-friendly and ready for replication in the Mediterranean and wider.
