PAP/RAC attends Coordination Meeting of Youth4CliMed in Barcelona

On March 10-12th, PAP/RAC attended the Interim Coordination Meeting of the Youth4CliMed project in Barcelona, Spain. The meeting, hosted by Universitat Abat Oliba CEU, brought together project partners from Türkiye, Italy, Croatia and Spain (Dehukam, Dokuz Eylül University, Fispmed, PAP/RAC, UOA CEU). This meeting marked the halfway point of the Youth4CliMed project, which aims to enhance awareness and participation of young people in the face of climate change challenges in the Mediterranean.

The meeting was kicked off by lead project partner Dehukam with a discussion on previous training sessions (CASS I and II), which took place in Ankara (July 2025) and Izmir (February 2026). This session was an opportunity to share feedback from both students and trainers, and to brainstorm possible improvements in future CASS sessions to ensure the best experience for future participants.

Partners also discussed dissemination strategies, both for project results and to promote future sessions. Dehukam presented a new e-learning platform, which includes the content of both CASS I and II trainings, with video recordings and reading materials. This platform makes the courses freely available to students beyond CASS participants. It will be updated as the project progresses, and will remain available after the end of the project in February 2026.

Most importantly, a working agenda was drafted and discussed for CASS III, which will be held in Ankara from the 9th to the 14th of June, 2026. Following CASS I (Marine Pollution and Conservation Strategies) and CASS II (Sustainable Development Goals and the Mediterranean), this five-day training session will be centered around ‘Understanding Climate Change in the Mediterranean Region’. This CASS will be a great opportunity to educate students on the main climate challenges in the Mediterranean, and the various solutions that are implemented across the region.
