Sharing Knowledge Across the Adriatic: PAP/RAC and Albanian Partners Met in Split

As part of the Space Data for Climate Action project, funded by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, PINUS NIGRA and Zdravi Grad facilitated a meeting in Split between PAP/RAC and eight representatives of the Flag Pine organization from Vlorë, Albania. The meeting provided a valuable platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and strengthening cooperation between Croatian and Albanian partners.

Discussions focused on PAP/RAC’s past and ongoing activities in Albania, highlighting key initiatives such as the development of the Integrated Monitoring and Assessment Programme (IMAP) for Albania under the GEF Adriatic project, the CAMP Otranto project, and the testing of IMAP Indicator 25 on land cover change in the Adriatic region, including Albania. These exchanges offered participants a comprehensive overview of how spatial data and monitoring tools are being applied to support integrated coastal and environmental management.

The meeting took place within the framework of a four-day study visit of the Albanian partners to Split, enriching the programme through open and informal discussions. By enabling the sharing of experiences, lessons learned, and practical insights, the exchange further contributed to building a common understanding of data-driven approaches for climate action and sustainable coastal management
